Laura Brannen is a senior policy advisor and federal climate policy team lead for The Nature Conservancy. Based in Arlington, Virginia, she steers the Conservancy’s strategy to advance U.S. federal climate and energy policies that put the U.S. on a path to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Laura joined the Conservancy from the energy industry. She held multiple public affairs and government relations positions for two multinational companies. Previously, she tracked and analyzed global strategic trends at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a non-partisan foreign policy think tank. In her two decades in Washington, Laura has covered a wide range of climate, energy, and environmental policy issues, including their intersection with trade and national security, and has engaged in legislative, regulatory, administrative, and broader stakeholder engagement processes.
Laura holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Pennsylvania State University.
