Carbon reuse involves capturing carbon from power, industrial, or directly from air sources and turning it into fuels, building materials, or other products to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The federal Section 45Q tax credit covers many of these utilization pathways, provided developers complete a life‑cycle assessment. By 2050, carbon‑based products like concrete, fuels, aggregates, and polymers could displace up to seven gigatonnes of CO₂ annually, around 15 percent of global emissions. Read the full fact sheet to explore how different utilization pathways stack up in terms of climate impact and market opportunity.
